So I was reading a book by one of my favorite pastors and speakers, Mark Driscoll, and he said something I've heard before but remains really interesting and significant. He said that one of the biggest differences between Jesus Christ and all of the other major religious leaders and icons is that Jesus is the only one to ever claim divinity.
Now, there's a lot of details and deeper discussion just on that subject, but assuming that Jesus is the son of G-d, and assuming that he knew that, this is a pretty big deal. Buddha, Confucious, Krishna, Muhammed, etc never claimed divinity.
Now, I highly value art and imagination and creativity and opinion, but I also value facts and science. In this world, currently, there are thousands upon thousands of supposed "facts" spreading like the plague by people who have not done any research, and have no credibility.
This is especially true in religion. This is especially true regarding Jesus. These days, I can imagine that as a high school student, you are beginning to question things like authority, choice, politics, science, and religion, among many other things.
But be encouraged by the fact that Jesus Christ was and is the most powerful person in the history of existence, because even today, he sparks passionate lives into motion. Be encouraged that while other religions may have opinions of Jesus as a great leader, prophet, and/or teacher, but not G-d, that he was all of those things, and he is the only one to not only claim to be G-d, but he backed it up better than anybody ever has.
The simple facts support Jesus Christ as a real person, and the historical facts support that he did raise from the dead. I wouldn't lie to you guys, but these are not opinions, and unless someone discovers some piece of miraculous evidence to prove otherwise, Jesus Christ just so happens to actually be the ONLY way to a perfect life, in a perfect world.

Schools IN for Summer?
Looks like we at the Hillvue Office Compound took "summer vacation" literally and vacated the blog for a while.
My apologies.
Currently, it is gaining on 8:00pm...which means we are merely hours away from the first day of school for most of you guys.
Know that you all will be in our prayers, as will your teachers, administrators, faculty and staff. As much of a bummer as it is to go back to school - I am super excited to be part of your school year this year and look forward to you sharing it with me! (oh - and I can still be swayed to having a favorite Warren Co/Bowling Green team - I take bribes)
Hope you have a blessed day tomorrow and I look forward to seeing all of you on Wednesday!

Wednesday Night
Things are getting hectic as we are all in the office preparing for camp. Shane and I are working on tomorrow night's concept, I'm looking at what I could do artistically to illustrate it, Chase is sorting out messes, and Andrew is out and about, on duty. :]
I'm working on some new stuff myself and it is a world of difficult. To give you an idea, it uses 4 regular quarters, and the entire piece has 4 phases. Each phase requires 2 sleights that must be done at the fingertips at EXACTLY the same time, and a sleight with focused misdirection during each transition between phases.
I was up until 4am a few nights ago practicing myself sick. It looks like I'm having convulsions when I practice too, because the timing has to be spot on, lol.
Anywho, INVITE YOUR FRIENDS TO THE BLOG.
Immediately.
I must go and dance now.

Bullets
Hey guys, here are some updates, via "Bullets" to let you know what's going down:
- We need students who want to come and help out at the garden. College kids are going out there and rockin that thing. Let us know if you want to help and when you can set aside a day or two and we'll hook you up. I'm going out there today, myself. :]
- WE NEED MORE PEOPLE on the blog! C'mon! 6 people? Weaksauce.
- If you have questions or are confused about anything regarding camp at Orange Beach, make sure you get that resolved asap. The gap is closing.
On a side note, I(Sean) have got a good feel for just about everyone and I'll be more choosy and straightforward when it comes to magic. I'm working on a LOT of concepts and ideas right now, and being that everyone is "broken in" now, I won't be doing any more "magic tricks."
From now on, I will only be doing real deal stuff. So if you ask me to do a magic trick, and I say no, don't be offended, it just means I've got something better planned. :]

Keep in touch for the next update, and forreals, get other people on this blog so we can put a video up!

Junior High:
Hey gang...tonight we are going to be entering a pretty fun journey for the rest of the summer. We are going to be talking about "A Day at the Beach". It should be a kickin' time to close out the year - complete with water games and a pool party....eventually.
Tonight we are discussing a guy that had a pretty weird story that would not be our ideal day at the beach - Jonah. Oh, and bring your favorite summer vacation story in your mind as well!
Senior High:
What wins? When what you do collides with what God says...what wins? Tonight we will be discussing how God's truth can sometimes conflict with our lives or lifestyles....and determine what wins out!
